Abstract: A covered belt conveyor comprising a belt; a cover (4); a base frame (1) having a first longitudinal rail (1 a) and a second longitudinal rail (1 b); and an idler frame (2). The cover (4) defines an inside un-safe region (5) inside the cover (4) and an outside safe region (6) outside the cover (4), wherein the idler frame (2) is attached to the base frame (1) in the outside safe region (6) outside the cover (4) such that the idler frame (2) may be adjusted during operation of the covered belt conveyor without entering the inside un-safe region (5) inside the cover (4). Also provided is a method for correcting the misalignment of a moving conveyor belt on such a covered belt conveyor.
