The present invention provides an inorganic-organic hybrid binder system which can be used in various types of applications including painting and coating applications. The binder system comprises a quaternary system of an alkali metal silicate, a waterborne acrylic resin, an alkali metal methyl siliconate, and an organofunctional silane. The quaternary system can be combined with water to provide a binder composition that can be used as a painting or coating material.

A sealing arrangement for a subsea wellhead component is provided which comprises a primary seal (36) to prevent leakage of internal pressure from within the wellhead component and a secondary seal (38) surrounding the primary seal to prevent entry of ambient pressure into the wellhead component. The secondary seal is adapted to permit pressure which leaks past the primary seal to also leak past the secondary seal and vent to the atmosphere to provide an indication during testing of the primary seal that the primary seal has failed.

A swashplate style pump (10) uses a dual location cluster bearing (40, 46) of consistent configuration for use in each of two positions in the pump. In one location the dual location cluster bearing (46) will interface with pistons and the swashplate cam (22). In a second location the dual position cluster bearing (40) will interface with the non-camming side of the swashplate (22) and the back plate (20) of the pump. The dual position cluster bearing (40, 46) can be used in either and both positions with equal facility.

The present invention provides a method for preparing a spray-dried compressible granular formulation for preparing pharmaceutical tablets in which hydrolyzed cellulose is used as a granulation aid, the resulting granulations, and pharmaceutical tablets compressed from such granules. In these formulations there is employed from 1 to 97 % by weight pharmaceutical active, from about 3 to 99 % by weight hydrolyzed cellulose, based on the dry weight of the granulation, and optionally conventional granulation and/or tableting additives such as surfactants, disintegrants and antiadherents/flow aids.

A novel method of preparing a spinel Li1+XMn2-XO4 intercalation compound with low lattice distortion and a highly ordered and homogeneous structure for 4 V secondary lithium and lithium ion cells is provided. The method of preparing the spinel Li1+XMn2-XO4 intercalation compound comprises mixing at least one manganese compound with at least one lithium compound and firing the mixture at three different temperature ranges with corresponding gas flow rates to form the spinel Li1+XMn2-XO4 intercalation comnpounds. The spinel Li1+XMn2-XO4 intercalation compounds have a mean X value of between about 0.01 and 0.05 and a full width at half maximum of the x-ray diffraction peaks at a diffraction angle 2 theta of planes (400) and (440) using CuK alpha 1 rays of between about 0.10 DEG and 0.15 DEG . The spinel Li1+XMn2-XO4 intercalation compounds may be used in the positive electrodes of secondary lithium and lithium ion cells to provide cells having high specific capacities and long cycling lives.

An improved method to lubricate a metal workpiece at elevated working temperatures is described employing a novel liquid lubricant preparation which includes a vaporizable and polymerizable alkyl aromatic phosphate ester in combination with a die release agent selected from the group consisting of an organic binder and a fatty acid soap, to include mixtures thereof. The applied preparation forms a solid polymer lubricant in the forming die at the elevated working temperatures enabling lower applied pressures to be employed while producing superior workpieces.
