    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an electrical connector capable of being connected to a circuit board mechanically and electrically without having to use a solder ball. SOLUTION: This currently preferred electrical connector includes an electrically conductive terminal pin, and an electrically isolated connector body which has substantially flat first and second surfaces and a stud member. The stud member protrudes from the substantially flat second surface, which is suited to be mounted on the circuit board. The connector body has a plurality of through holes formed therein. Each through hole extends from the substantially flat first surface to each stud member, which is suited to receive one terminal pin. At least part of the stud member is coated with electrically conductive material, which is suited to establish electrical contact between the terminal pin of the circuit board and an electrical connection.     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric connector obtained by combining, especially, an electronic noise filter system. SOLUTION: The digital filter adapter in accordance with the invention comprises a first connector for connecting to an interface of an electronic device, an electrical signal filter, and a connector receptacle for connecting to a communication channel or cable. Electronic signals received from the electronic device into the adapter are routed through the electrical signal filter, which is typically mounted on a printed circuit board, and communicated through the connector receptacle to a communication cable. The connector receptacle provides the same interface as the electronic device to which the first connector is designed to be attached. Thus, the adapter can be inserted between the electronic device and a communication cable which, in the absence of the adapter, could be connected directly to the electronic device.     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a modular jack having magnetic components. SOLUTION: The modular jack has a plurality of ports capable of receiving electric connector. A plurality of contactors to be connected to a contactor of the electric connector are extended in respective ports. The ports can be arranged into a stack structure of double beck jack. Magnetic housings is mounted to a housing, and respective magnetic housing can house the magnetic elements. A magnetic housing is prepared for every two ports, and the magnetic housing houses the magnetic elements for respective ports. Shields for insulating magnetic elements are inserted into the housing between magnetic elements. A printed wiring board can be mounted to the magnetic housing, and a contactor holding part having a plurality of contactors can be mounted to the printed wiring board. The contactor of the housing, the contactors of the contactor holding part, and the magnetic element of the magnetic housing can electrically are connected each other through the printed wiring board. SOLUTION: The currently preferable electric connector is provided with an electrically insulating base member having the first face, a substantially flat second face and plural stud members to protrude from the second face. This base member has plural through holes formed in it. The through hole is respectively extended from the first face to the respective stud members.     Abstract: A modular jack has an insulative insert (72) having outer walls (82, 84, 76) defining a first recess (100) therein. The insert (72) is mounted within an insulating housing interior section. A cap (110) having outer walls defining a second recess (114) therein is mounted within the insert first recess (100) so that the first and second recesses (100, 114) together form an internal cavity (164) for receiving an electrical device. First and second elongate portions (206a, 206b) of a conductive contact (200) together securely grasp the insert outer wall (76) and a bridging portion (206c) of the contact resides at the insert outer wall edge (208). The cap (110) also has a rear wall (112) having a rear face (222) that faces in a rear direction, and the contact also has a rear portion (224) adjacent the cap (110) and facing in the rear direction. The cap rear wall rear face extends farther in the rear direction than the contact rear portion (224). A grounding shield (220) fits over the jack and has a planar rear panel (226) with a rear face (222) that faces in the rear direction. The rear panel (226) covers the cap rear wall rear face and the contact rear portion (224).

    Abstract: A receptacle (100A) and printed circuit board (30) combination for receiving a telecommunications plug (80) and achieving electrical connection between the plug (80) and the printed circuit board (30) is provided. The combination occupies a minimum required amount of space and requires a minimum amount of material. The combination comprises an insulating housing, a plurality of electrical contacts (20), and a printed circuit board (30), wherein the housing (10) and circuit board (30) form a plug receiving opening (40). The printed circuit board (30) has a cut-out portion (34) for receiving the receptacle (100A). Preferably, the receptacle further comprises two latches extending from a bottom surface (16) of the housing (10) for mounting the receptacle (100A) on the circuit board (30), wherein the cutout portion (34) of the circuit board (30) receives the peg (15). In certain preferred embodiments, the housing (10) further comprises two ledges, each extending from a sidewall of the housing (10). In additional preferred embodiments, the ledges (42, 44) have respective ledge extensions (43, 45) extending down from the ledges (42, 44) at the front of the housing (10) to help anchor the receptacle (100A) in place on the circuit board (30) by making contact with a leading edge of the circuit board (30). In other preferred embodiments, the ledge extensions have respective lips (43, 45) extending from the ledge extensions toward each other such that the receptacle can receive a latch arm (82) of the telecommunications plug (80).
