    Abstract: The device comprises a collar consisting of two shells, designed to provide a link with the load-transmitting element. The cable has an assembly of tensioned strands contained, at the level of the collar, in a matrix filling the interstices between the strands. This matrix is totally or partially made from a plastic material susceptible to creep under the effect of the clamping action of the collar. The clamping action is applied by elongate elements transmitting a clamping force to the shells of the collar. These elongate elements are stressed so as to produce a longitudinal elastic deformation that is much greater than the maximum settlement of the matrix due to creep. This prevents any undesirable loosening of the collar.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a device for connecting together, end to end, two cables 4 and 12 with a plurality of strands 5 and 11 which are capable for generating respectively prestressing forces on two concrete sections 1 and 13 made in succession and forming part of an "advancing" construction, comprising a perforated disc 21 serving as an anchoring means for the strands 5 of the primary cable 4, a ring notched radially at 10 serving as an anchoring means for the strands 11 of the secondary cable 12 and a load-transferring sleeve 20 inserted axially between the disc and the first section 1. The sleeve 20 comprises a distributing footing 19 which bears directly against the concrete 2 making up the primary section 1 and is sufficiently wide to distribute, by itself, the prestressing force in this concrete.
