    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single-pass inkjet printer which makes line combination good while avoiding effects of web weaving. SOLUTION: The head has multiple orifice plates sufficient to cover a printing region. Each of the orifice plates serves on some but not all of the region. Each of lines 40, 42, 44 and 46 spreads without being printed and combined at the same time so as to reduce poor line combination. Gaps 41, 43 and 44 remain without being filled. After as longer time passes, the gaps are bridged using a flow of intervening droplets while a diameter achieved as a result of spattering of droplets is taken into consideration.     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a print head in a single-pass inkjet printer allowing good line merging while avoiding the effect of web weave.SOLUTION: A print head that moves in a first direction includes a plurality of linear array modules. Each linear array module extends along a first direction and a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. Each orifice on the linear array module is disposed to eject ink along a print line 140 on a printed matter. The print line extends along the first direction. The orifices of the linear array module are arranged in a staggered pattern such that orifices on the adjacent print lines 140 are alternately shifted along the first direction. The volume of the ink discharged from the first orifice forms an ink droplet having a splat diameter without requiring additional spread to achieve a uniform print area without gaps on the printed matter.

    Abstract: An apparatus for depositing droplets on a substrate is disclosed. The apparatus includes a support for the substrate, a droplet ejection assembly which includes a pumping chamber, a controller and a source of static pressure to maintain the total pressure in the pumping chamber above a threshold pressure level to avoid rectified diffusion type bubble growth in the pumping chamber. The droplet ejection assembly is positioned over the support for depositing the droplets on the substrate and includes, in addition to a pumping chamber, a displacement member and an orifice that ejects the droplets. The controller provides signals to the displacement member to eject drops.

    Abstract: A method and system of facilitating development of fluids having a variety of elemental compositions are disclosed. A graphical user interface allows user interaction with a lab deposition system to control fluid drop ejection of fluids through multiple nozzles. Fluid drop ejection and drop formation can vary from fluid to fluid, and require adjustments to waveform parameters of a drive pulse applied to the multiple nozzles. The system implements a drop watcher camera system to capture real-time still and video images of fluid drops as they exit the multiple nozzles. The captured drop formation of the fluid drops are displayed to the user, and based on the images the waveform parameters are adjusted and customized specific for individual fluid. In addition to adjusting the drive pulse that effects fluid drop ejection, a tickle pulse can also be adjusted and customize to prevent clogging of the nozzles.
