    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the tracing ability of a picture tracking device by enabling the device to process by using a field picture when a processing area is large and by using a frame picture when the area is small. CONSTITUTION:The 1st areal centroid calculating means 7-1 calculates the areal centroid of a target object in a processing area from binarized data belonging to the 1st field and the 2nd areal centroid calculating means 7-2 calculates the areal centroid of a target object from binarized data belonging to both the 1st and 2nd fields. The 1st processing area calculating means 8-1 enlarges or contracts a processing area so that target object can be appropriately contained in the processing area from binarized data belonging to the 1st field and the 2nd processing area calculating means 8-2 enlarges or contracts a processing area from binarized data belonging to the 1st and 2nd fields. Then a selecting means 10 selects the means 7-1 and 8-1 when the size of a calculated processing area is larger than a prescribed value and the means 7-2 and 8-2 when the size is smaller than the prescribed value. Therefore, the tracking ability of this picture tracking device can be improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce a load of a scanning control system, and to constitute the system so that it is not influenced by a disturbance, by using the first reflecting mirror for photodetecting a radiated light from an object to be photographed, at a necessary angle, and the second reflecting mirror for projecting the radiated light of the first reflecting mirror to a multi- element infrared detector at a prescribed angle. CONSTITUTION:An infrared radiated light 11 from an object to be photographed is reflected by the first reflecting mirror 2, and its reflected light 22 is reflected again by the second reflector 3 and projected to a multi-element infrared detector 4. The reflecting mirror 2 is fixed to a revolving shaft 21, connected to a rotary motor 24 through a rotation transfer mechanism 23, and the revolving shaft 21 makes an angle of theta1 against a reflecting surface normal. The reflecting mirror 3 is fixed to a revolving shaft 31, the revolving shaft 31 is connected to the revolving shaft 21 through a rotation transfer mechanism 25, and the revolving shaft 31 makes an angle of theta2 against a reflecting surface normal of the reflecting mirror 3. In such a state, when both the reflecting mirrors 2, 3 are rotated synchronously at a constant speed by the rotary motor 24 under a condition of theta1>theta2, a locus on the multi-element infrared detector 4 of a reflected light 32 becomes elliptical, and on the contrary, when the reflected light 32 is set to a fixed optical path, a locus on the object to be photographed 1 of the radiated light 11 becomes elliptical.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain pulse laser with stable frequency, by triggering transmission output of transmitting laser to be controlled by local oscilltion laser output of small power. CONSTITUTION:Transmission of a transmitting laser 1 to be controlled is outputted through the first beam splitter BS1. At the same time, output reflected here is applied to the second beam splitter BS2 receiving irradiation from a local oscillation laser 2 which has smaller power than the laser 1 and more stable in frequency by two figures. Next, output synthesized here is applied to a dual distributor 5 via an optical detector 3 and an intermediate frequency amplifier 4. One output divided here in two is applied to an AND circuit 18 via a bandpass filter 8, and amplitude demodulator 9 and a comparator 11. The other is applied to the AND circuit 18 via a discriminator 10 and a comparator 12. The AND output of the circuit 18 is applied to a trigger output stage 20 of the laser 1 connected to the circuit 18 via a frequency controller 15, a high-voltage DC amplifier 16, and a variable frequency device 17.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an object distingushing apparatus for the monitoring and the controlling while utilizing a passive sensor, e.g. a light wave sensor, etc., by installing a judging means to judge to what pattern each object article belongs. CONSTITUTION:When an object extracting means 1 detects an image having a size within a prescribed range among images in each frame, it sends out its position in the frame as the position of the image. An object size detecting means 2 detects the size of the image of the object article and a signal intensity detecting means 3 detect the signal intensity of the image of the object article. An object judging means 11 save a range of patterns of previously determined various kinds of articles, such as position of images, the size of images, the signal intensity of images, etc. The judging means 11 compares the information regarding the position of images, the size of images, the signal intensity of images, etc., which correspond to those of each object article with the range of the patterns. Consequently, from the view points whether the information are within the range of the patterns or not, to what pattern the information belongs is determined.

A correlation value peak calculating part 43 calculates the peak point of a correlation value between a tracking target outputted from a reference image memory 35 and the input image and outputs the calculated target position. A reference size calculating part 44 calculates a reference size based upon the outputs of the calculating parts 38, 43 and the difference value. An image in an area corresponding to the calculated reference size and the position of the tracking target is sequentially updated and stored as a tracking target.

CONSTITUTION:A luminance average value calculation part 4 calculates a luminance average value in a catching gate at the time of catching the target in reference to a picture data from an image pick-up device 1 and sets the luminance average value to the characteristic parameter of the target. An absolute value of difference calculation part 5 calculates the absolute value of a difference between the luminance average value and image data and correlates the absolute value with the feature parameter. A smoothing filter 6 smoothes the absolute value. A minimum point retrieving part 7 retrieves the minimum point of a filter output, and sets it as the tracking point of the target. A visual axis changing mechanism 2 is controlled and the visual axis of the image pick-up device is made to track the object.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To limit an image processing range by determining the ensuing image processing range in an image processing means according to an in-screen target prediction position. CONSTITUTION:The directing angle changing speed during turning of a directing device 2 is measured by a directing angle change speed measuring means 5 and the directing angle is determined by integrating 40 this directing angle change speed by a target position predicting means 6. This directing angle and a tracking error are added 42 to determine the target position. The target prediction position is subtracted 46 from the target position to determine a target prediction error. The target prediction position is determined from this target prediction error by a prediction filter 41 having a required prediction characteristic. Further, the directing angle is subtracted 47 from the target prediction position to determine the in-screen target prediction position and the image processing range at the time of the ensuing processing is determined the image processing means 3 according to this in-screen target prediction position. The image processing range in the ensuing frame is determined in this way.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve accuracy for detecting a target object and to improve tracking performance by shifting picture elements thinned out in an even-number horizontal scanning line to picture elements thinned out in an odd-number horizontal scanning CONSTITUTION:The number of picture elements to be thinned out is calculated by comparing the number of picture elements in a processing area calculated by an area calculation circuit with the maximum number of processed picture elements. In this case, a flag is introduced so as to shifting extracted picture elements corresponding to the number of thinned-out picture elements for each scanning line (horizontal line). Namely, when the number of picture elements in the processing range exceeds the maximum number of processed picture elements by a routine, the picture elements are thinned out and extracted, and the extracted picture elements are shifted. Thus, accuracy for detecting the target object is improved and therefore, since tracking speed is decided according to error calculation based on this detection, tracking performance is improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To attain highly accurate image correlation tracking even when a target moving distance from a target position is less than an image sampling interval by finding out the maximum value of a correlation value image with a target reference image and finding out an estimated maximum value extremely close to a real maximum value based upon respective correlation values of the position of the maximum value and its adjacent point position. CONSTITUTION:An image correlation arithmetic means 20 finds out the maximum value of a correlation value image by target extracting processing based upon correlation processing between an image obtained by an image pickup sensor and a target reference image. An estimation arithmetic means 21 estimates an estimated maximum value extremely close to a real maximum value based upon respective correlation values of the maximum value position and its adjacent point position and outputs the estimated maximum value position as a target position. Since correlation value distribution is approximated to a quadratic curve based upon the correlation maximum value position and its adjacent point position and the maximum value extremely approximate to a real value is estimated, the target can be traced with accuracy of the interval less than the sampling interval even if the sampling interval is larger than a set target moving distance.

CONSTITUTION:The back of an infrared detecting element 3 is bonded onto the upper surface of the internal conductor 20 of a coaxial type male cartridge 23, and the surface of the element 3 is bonded to the external conductor 24 of the cartridge 23 by a wire. The cartridge 23 is inserted into the female holder 26, which is supported into the heat sink 19 of the cooler and at the outside thereof a male screw is threaded. The cartridge 23 is fixed by engaging the screw 31 of a hold-down member 27 with a light transmitting window with the male screw of the holder 26.
