    Abstract: PURPOSE:To shorten the switching time to make unattended operation possible by monitoring and detecting the contact state of a switching unit by duplex switching units and by selecting automatically predetermined of duplex systems according to the detected contact state. CONSTITUTION:Constitution of the duplex system is divided into 0-system CPU22 and communication control units 20 and 21 and 1-system CPU28 and communication control units 26 and 27, and the 0-system is used currently, and the 1-system is queued. The output side of MODEM units 101-1-101-2 and 10n-1-10n-2 connected to the line is connected to 0-system switching unit 11 and 1-system switching unit 14, and respective units 11 and 14 are provided with contacts S0-1-S0-3 and Sn-1-Sn-3 for switching of the 0-system and the 1-system, relay circuits 12 and 15 to control contacts, and command holding units 13 and 16. Further, 0-system and 1-system switching control units 17 and 23 provided with state monitor units 18 and 24 for units 11 and 14 and relay circuits 19 and 25 to control command switches SA and SB are connected to CPUs 22 and 28 respectively, thereby switching automatically the 0-system and the 1-system.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable a single switching unit to switch all of circuit systems by making it possible for alternation switches of in-use and stand-by communication controllers provided to each switching unit to operate independently. CONSTITUTION:Circuit switching unit 20 is equipped with switching units 10 and 11, and selection switch groups 12 and 13 for switching command signals. Switch groups 12 and 13 provide random connections, and one of switching command signals 0, 1, 2, and 3 is supplied to the input terminal of unit 20 so as to select either specific in-use or stand-by communication controller CCU. For example, the switching of CCU0 and CCU1 systems is brought under the control of switching command signals 0 and 1. Namely, signals 0 and 1 supplied to the input terminal turn ON relay circuit 14 or 15 by way of the fixed path (dotted line) of switch 12 to change in-use CCU0 over to stand-by CCU0 or in-use CCU1 over to stand-by CCU1.

Then, wrap data transfer method 15 is provided which sets the content of transmitted data area 10S concerned with transmitted data in memory part 7 in received data area 10R concerned with received data in the memory part and on the basis of memory wrap indication commands from host data processors 1 and 2, transmitted data is set in transmitted data area 10S, set in received data area 10 via transfer method 15, and then transferred as received data to the host data processor side.
