Abstract: A communication promotion method is provided to appropriately support communication by a plurality of users in different environments. A character 2, operable by an IRC client 5, is linked to or installed in a user terminal 8. An administration device 3 detects a specific event in a channel and sends a specific command to the IRC client 5 via IRC. Commands do not always have to be sent to all of the IRC client 5, and may be different according to the IRC client 5. The user terminal 8 detects the aforesaid command and sends it to the character 2. Characters at each user terminal 8 operate as specified by the command.

Abstract: A telephone call alerting system is applied to a telephone communication system accommodating a line (#1, #2, #3) to which a telephone terminal (12, 14, 16) is connected, a plurality of telephone numbers being assigned to the line. The telephone call alerting system includes an output unit for outputting information indicating a telephone number of a call when the call is received by the telephone terminal (12, 14, 16), a plurality of informing units for outputting an alert indicating that a call has been received by the telephone terminal, each of the plurality of informing units corresponding to one of the plurality of telephone numbers, a memory unit for storing a table indicating a relationship between the plurality of telephone numbers and the plurality of informing units, an identification unit, when the call is received by the telephone terminal, for identifying one of the plurality of informing units corresponding to the telephone number indicated by the information output by the output means, with reference to the table, and a control unit, when the call is received by said telephone terminal, for supplying an instruction of outputting the alert to the one of the plurality of informing units identified by the identification means, so that the one of the plurality of informing units outputs the alert.

Abstract: LOOP TRANSMISSION SYSTEM WITH FRAME SYNCHRONIZATION CONTROL A loop transmission system with frame synchronization control includes a loop (1) through which information in the form of a sequence of frames is transmitted, a plurality of node units (51, 52, ..., 5n; 3, 4) inserted at predetermined positions in the loop (1) for receiving and delivering information, and a supervisory device (2) inserted at a predetermined position in the loop (1) for supervising the transmission of information through the loop (1) in association with the node units (51, 52, ..., 5n; 3, 4). The supervisory device (2) is operable to deliver a frame synchronization cancellation signal. Each of the node units (51, 52, ..., 5n; 3, 4) is adapted to detect the frame synchronization cancellation signal and cancel the synchronized operation state in bypassing or taking-in of a node and to restore synchronization in the frame next to the synchronized cancelled frame. Therefore, quick restoration of synchronization after bypassing or taking-in of a node is ensured. (Fig. 1)

The link control information is produced for each file. The access of each user to the files and the access of each user to the links are controlled in accordance with the file control information and the link control information. The link control information may further include propagation information which controls whether processing performed on a first file is performed also on a second file.

The link control information may further include first propagation information which represents whether a processing performed on a first file is to be reflected to a second file so that a processing performed on the second file may be controlled, when the first file is processed, in accordance with the first propagation information.
