Abstract: The present application discloses a method for preparing an electrochromic device. The method includes placing an edge protection material on a first and second substrates, placing a first and second interlayers respectively within the edge protection material on the first and second substrates, wherein the edge protection material surrounds edges of the first and second interlayers, and interposing an electrochromic film between the first and second interlayers. The edge protection material prevents chemicals in the first and second interlayers from entering into the electrochromic film.

Abstract: A self-heating electrochromic device and related manufacturing methods are provided. The electrochromic device includes a bottom electrode layer and a bottom substrate attached to each other; a top electrode layer and a top substrate attached to each other; an electrochromic layer, an electrolyte layer, and a charge storage layer sandwiched by the bottom electrode layer and the top electrode layer. Two first high conductive bars may be respectively provided on two edges of the bottom electrode layer, and two second high conductive bars may be respectively provided on two edges of the top electrode layer. The first and second high conductive bars may be configured to generate a current in the electrode layer in response to a voltage, and thus increase the temperature of the electrochromic device, thereby improving the switching speed of the electrochromic device in a low temperature environment.

Abstract: Electrochromic devices with reflective structure and related manufacturing methods are provided. One of the electrochromic devices includes a bottom electrode layer, an electrochromic layer on the bottom electrode layer, an electrolyte layer on the electrochromic layer, a charge storage layer on the electrolyte layer, and a top electrode on the charge storage layer. The transmittance of the electrochromic device changes in response to a voltage applied between the bottom electrode layer and the top electrode layer. One of the bottom and the top electrode layers is a reflective conductive layer, while the other being a transparent conductive layer. This electrochromic device has a simplified structure due to the removal of a separated reflective film, which also results in simplified manufacturing process.

Abstract: The disclosure relates generally to an electrochromic system. The system may include one or more electrochromic devices and a central control device. Each electrochromic device may include two glass layers, two adhesive layers, an electrochromic film, a controller, and a control device. The two adhesive layers may be disposed on inner surfaces of the two glass layers. The electrochromic film may be disposed between the two adhesive layers, the electrochromic film including an electrochromic material layer, a solid polymer electrolyte, and a charge storage layer. The controller may include a power converter, a signal receiver, and a power output. The power converter may be configured to receive power from a power source. The power source may include an energy storage integrated with the controller. The signal receiver may be configured to receive a control signal. The power output may be coupled to the electrochromic film and configured to provide power to the electrochromic film to control optical state of the electrochromic film. The control device may be configured to send the control signal to the signal receiver. The central control device may be configured to globally control optical states of all of the one or more electrochromic devices.

Abstract: This application provides a method for preparing laminated glass sandwiching an electronic device. The device may include a device body, a conductive substrate, a conductive adhesive tape electrode, and a lead-out electrode. The conductive adhesive tape electrode has at least one surface coated with conductive adhesive and is attached to the conductive substrate, the lead-out electrode is placed on the conductive adhesive tape electrode or the conductive substrate and is conductively connected to the conductive adhesive tape electrode. The preparing method may include placing a protective layer on the conductive adhesive tape electrode, covering and sealing the conductive adhesive tape electrode onto the conductive substrate; and sandwiching the electronic device between two glass pieces and pressing the two glass pieces together to form the laminated glass.
