PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating wheel of a product packing device for eliminating the demerits that a well-known operating wheel is significantly complicated due to a mechanical operating device, and the down time is long when a format is changed. SOLUTION: The operating wheel comprises first and second extruding means 53 and 44 for engaging with each pocket 8 at each position of a loading station 23 and an unloading station 25, a second electrically driving means for transmitting the reciprocation in a substantially radial direction to the extruding means 53 and 44 at each save and rest position inside an annular drum 3 through each pocket 8, a first safety device 58 for preventing the annular drum 3 from rotating when at least one of the means 53 and 44 is engaged with each pocket 8, and a second safety device 59 for preventing the means 53 and 44 from moving from each save position when the drum 3 is rotated. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive roller for embossing usable for manufacturing many packaging materials each having a different format. SOLUTION: The apparatus for embossing (1) comprises the first embossing unit (6) for satin finishing of a packaging material (2) and the second embossing unit (13) for carving a pattern on a strip of the packaging material (2). PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that the tearing-off string which is located in the more upstream side than a bonding equipment is more elongated than the continuous band at a considerably high rate when the tearing-off string is pulled with a required pull force since the widths of the band and the string that form a combination band are largely different. SOLUTION: In the method and the device for sending the continuous band (2) and the tearing-off string (3) of the packing material to the machine of a user (4), the band (2) and the string (3) are simultaneously drawn from each reel (7, 13) and are sent through the bonding equipment (23) at the same speed along each path (6, 12), the band (2) and the string (3) are mutually bonded to form the combination band (25) of the packing material at the equipment (23), if a first pulling force (F1) is applied to both the band (2) and the string (3) , they are sent to the machine of the user (4) by a traction means (35), additional traction means (28, 29) are related to a part (36) of the string (3) which is extended between a corresponding reel (13) and the equipment (23), and a second pulling force (F2) is applied to the part (36) in the same direction as the first pulling force (F1). PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and easily practicable product packing method using a flat tubular package which requires no periodic help of an operator side. SOLUTION: This relates to a method and a machine 1 for packing a cigarette carton group 2 using a flat tubular package 3. The top wall 4 of the package 3 is sucked and caught by a grip head 10. The grip head is moved to supply the package 3 to a sheet. The sheet sucks and catches the bottom wall of the package 3 by this suction. The relative rotary movement of the sheet and the grip head 10 is then started for deforming the package 3 from a flat profile to an open profile, the carton group 2 is pushed in the open package 3, the grip head 10 releases the top wall 4 of the open package 3, the sheet is moved to supply the package 3 to a closing station 28, and the package 3 is closed at the station. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carton packing machine for selectively manufacturing both of two kinds of cartons juxtaposed along the vertical axis of the cartons. SOLUTION: This multipurpose carton packing machine has a conveyor assembly 13 for a box. A first conveyor 19 forms a sub-group of the box 4 stacked by bringing down by feeding the individual box 4 aligned and continuously arranged on a side surface to a storage part 26. A second conveyor 27 is associated to the first conveyor 19 to feed the box 4 to a packing machine 14 by receiving the box 4 carried by the first conveyor 19. The conveyor assembly 13 takes a first form for receiving a continuous body of the sub-group of the box 4 placed by bringing down from the first conveyor 19 by connecting the second conveyor 27 to the first conveyor 19 by the storage part 26 and a second form for receiving the individual box 4 aligned and continuously arranged on the side surface by connecting the second conveyor 27 to the first conveyor 19 on the upstream side of the storage part 26. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To pick up a stack without wrinkling a separation sheet for separating layers. SOLUTION: In a method and a device for picking up the stack 2 of a blank, the stack 2 is disposed in at least one layer 7 on the separation sheet having a peripheral part 9 projected to the outside of the layer 7, and substantially removed by a pickup member 13. At a position facing the removed stack 2, the stack pushes the separation sheet 8, is brought into contact with the separation sheet 8 on the underside of the removed stack 2, and slid in a specified pickup direction 11. The free end of the separation sheet 8 facing the pickup member 13 of the peripheral part 9 is clamped at a position where the stack intersects the pickup direction 11 horizontally by a gripping device 32 before and during the removal of the stack 2.
