    Abstract: A procedure for examining and inspecting drilled holes or other metal surface conformations by applying a castable, two component, magnetically active material comprised of room temperature vulcanizing rubber or a polymerizing material containing magnetizable particles and specific sensitizing agents, magnetizing the area to be inspected, and curing the castable material to form a permanent replica impression of the inspection area which, when removed, reveals the presence of surface flaws, such as cracks, scratches, tool marks or dimensional inaccuracies and subsurface flaws which may tend to develop in structurally deficient members.
