    Abstract: The strut system is extensible and is used for a self positioning fin. There are two stays (32, 40), one on the leading edge and one on the trailing edge. Both have a lower telescopic tube which pivots on its lower end on a fixed pivot (28, 30). There is also an upper telescopic tube, moving in the lower one, which is pivoted on a common pivot (36). Inside both types of struts are compression springs (38, 44). The struts are aligned by a spindle (34, 42) and slot on one of them. The spring is fully compressed when the struts are folded.
