Abstract: NANOWALL (101) SOLAR CELLS AND OPTOELECTRONIC DEVICES A photovoltaic device (100) that includes a substrate (102) and a nanowall (101) structure disposed on the substrate (102) surface. The device (100) also includes at least one layer (103) conformally deposited over the nanowall (101) structure. The conformal layer(s) is at least a portion of a photoactive junction. A method for making a photovoltaic device (100) includes generating a nanowall (101) structure on a substrate (102) surface and conformally depositing at least one layer (103) over the nanowall (101) structure thereby forming at least one photoactive junction. A solar panel includes at least one photovoltaic device (100) based on a nanowall (101) structure. The solar panel isolates such devices (100) from its surrounding atmospheric environment and permits the generation of electrical power.
