    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To feed a cascade of parts while sharply shortening the time required for recirculating the parts. SOLUTION: A nearly cylindrical feeder 1 has a feeder housing 2. The feeder has a plurality of spiral grooves 8 separated from each other and extended from a front end section to a rear end section of its inner face. The bottom face of the cone of an end cap 20 is set to a size to be coupled with the rear end section of the nearly cylindrical feeder housing. The end cap faces a cavity section and has a plurality of grooves 23 on the inner face. The grooves are extended to the bottom face of the cone from the tip section of the cone and arranged to be coupled with the corresponding spiral grooves of the feeder housing. A drive device 31 rotates the feeder, moves parts along a plurality of spiral grooves, and sends them to a delivery zone 33 at the tip section of the cone.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately position elements to prevent changes in the length of the elements upon formation of a wire lead for a ceramic metal halide lamp. SOLUTION: At least 2 wire elements, preferably, 3 elements of tungsten, niobium and molybdenum are welded together to form leads (14, 16). The first and second wire element are supported on first and second wire supports (112, 114) in alignment in an axial direction along a coaxial line to form a welded joint (X). The movable wire support (112) is moved in the direction of the coaxial line until the opposed ends of the first and second wire elements come into contact with each other, thereby forming a welded seam while retaining engaging force between these ends to join the first and second wire elements. After this first seam is inspected, a second seam is formed to form a wire lead composed of the 3 elements.

    Abstract: A method of forming a base for a three-way lamp includes molding a shell (14) and an eyelet (28) at opposite ends of an insulating material (22). A radial shoulder is formed in the insulating material between the eyelet and shell and adapted to receive an annular contact (38) after the insulating material has cured. Adjacent the shoulder, a recess (58) is formed in the insulating material that communicates with a lead wire opening (56). This permits a lead wire (66) to be fed through the opening, deformed outwardly into the recess, and the annular contact advanced over the eyelet into engagement with the radial shoulder. The lead wire and annular contact are then subsequently secured together.

    Abstract: A system and method for producing white light in an adjustable light emitting diode (LED) illumination device is provided. The system and method varies the "off time for one of multiple sets of light emitting diodes (LEDs) or channels in succession in order to compensate for and stabilize the color-shifting or degradation that gradually occurs in LEDs. Each channel corresponds to a different color. By varying the "off time of only one channel at a time, the system efficiently utilizes the majority of the LEDs, thereby enabling the production of a more stable white light with fewer LEDs.
