    Abstract: Un procedimiento para tratamiento de corrientes de escape que comprende: inyectar una corriente de reductor en una cámara (12) de escape que comprende una corriente de escape que contiene óxido de nitrógeno; poner en contacto una composición que comprende la corriente de reductor y la corriente de escape con un catalizador (20) y disminuir una concentración del óxido de nitrógeno en la composición que comprende la corriente de reductor y la corriente de escape; en el que la corriente de reductor comprende un reductor hidrocarburo y agua; caracterizado porque: el reductor hidrocarburo se inyecta en forma líquida y/o gaseosa y el agua se inyecta como líquido y/o vapor y en la que una cantidad del agua en la corriente de reductor es 0,01 a 15 por ciento en volumen (% volumen) en base al número total de moles de la corriente de reductor.

    Abstract: A method of removing at least nitrogen oxides from an exhaust gas comprises producing reducing agents including at least hydrogen gas upstream of a conversion catalyst; diverting a portion of the exhaust gas to a location upstream of the conversion catalyst; reacting the reducing agents with nitrogen oxides present in the portion of the exhaust gas to produce a nitrogen-containing compound reducing agent using the conversion catalyst; introducing the nitrogen-containing compound reducing agent upstream of a SCR catalyst; mixing the nitrogen-containing compound reducing agent with a second portion of the exhaust gas upstream of the SCR catalyst; and reacting the nitrogen-containing compound reducing agent with nitrogen oxides present in the second portion of the exhaust gas at the SCR catalyst.

    Abstract: A catalyst composition comprising a halide of a Group IB element, such as copper iodide, copper bromide, and an inert powder, such as fly ash, silica, alumina, clay, montmorillonite, mud, zeolite, magnesium oxide, calcium oxide, silicon carbide, zirconium or coal. Also disclosed is a composition comprising a reaction product of a halide of a Group IB element, such as copper iodide, copper bromide, an inert powder and mercury and a method comprising injecting a catalyst composition comprising a halide of a Group IB element, such as copper iodide, copper bromide, and an inert powder, such as fly ash, silica, alumina, clay, montmorillonite, mud, zeolite, magnesium oxide, calcium oxide, silicon carbide, zirconium or coal into an emissions stream of a thermoelectric power plant; converting an elemental form of mercury present in the emissions stream into an oxidized form, an amalgamated form and/or a particulate bound form of mercury; and collecting the oxidized form, the amalgamated form and/or the particulate bound form of mercury prior to the entry of the emissions stream into the atmosphere.
