    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a light weight very low temperature cryostat to endure the severe electromagnetic force and heat, by a method wherein two separated circular superconductive magnet cryostats connected by axial directional spacer contain a main magnet coil generating powerful image making magnetic field in the vertical patient approaching gap between the cryostats. SOLUTION: A superconductive magnet system 10 is provided with a pair of toroidal type or doughnut type circular cryostats 1, 2, which are separated by stainless steel spacers 3 extending in the direction of four each of axes arranged in parallel with the axial line 5 around the axial line 5 of almost cylindrical image making central hole. In such a constitution, the whole structure forms an almost opened space 11 between the circular cryostats 1, 2 to make some medical practicians approach to the space 11. Furthermore, the main magnet coil and an abutting coil provided in respective circular cryostats 1 and 2 are wound around rectangular sectional space or circular ditch in respective magnet coil bobbins.

    Abstract: A penetration assembly 200 for a cryostat is presented. The penetration assembly 200 includes an outer wall member 208 having a first end 210 and a second end 212 and configured to alter an effective thermal length of the wall member, wherein a first end of the tube is communicatively coupled to a high temperature region and the second end of the tube 212 is communicatively coupled to a cryogen 118 disposed within a cryogen vessel 104 of the cryostat 101. In addition, the penetration tube assembly 200 includes a telescoping inner wall member 220 comprising a plurality of tubes 222-228 nested within one another, and wherein each tube in the plurality of tubes 222-228 is operatively coupled to at least one other tube in series.

    Abstract: A gradient coil apparatus for a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system includes an inner gradient coil assembly comprising at least one inner gradient coil and an outer gradient coil assembly comprising at least one outer gradient coil. At least one gradient coil interconnect 550 is coupled to the inner gradient coil and the outer gradient coil. The gradient coil interconnect includes a wire assembly 572 comprising a plurality of conductors 572 each covered by insulation 574, and a reinforcement material 576 surrounding at least a portion of the wire assembly. The wire assembly has a first end electrically coupled to the outer gradient coil assembly and a second end electrically coupled to the inner gradient coil. The wire assembly remains flexible at the points of connection to the coil, and the reinforcement provides strength, allowing the assembly to withstand stresses during operation of the MRI system.
