    Abstract: A filter element (1) for liquid permeable floor area fastening (17), a floor covering plate (15), a manhole cover (15), a sewage cavity or the like, with at least one pre-filtering layer (3) in the direction of the through-flow (2) and at least one following filter layer (4,4'), wherein the free through-flow sections (a, b, b') of each layer (3, 4, 4') increase from layer to layer in the direction of the through-flow.
