Abstract:
A system and method that enables large content data transfers to mobile platforms is provided. The mobile platform cache system and method provided build a cache suitable for large content data transfers using the available storage capacity of one or more frequently used, existing mobile devices. The provided mobile cache system and method prioritize available free or low cost communication protocols for data transfer to one or more mobile devices, enabling the use of free Wi-Fi communications or low cost communications, and minimizing the use of cellular data transmissions for large content data transfers.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are provided for managing speech dialog of a speech system. In one embodiment, a method includes: receiving information determined from a non-speech related sensor; using the information in a turn-taking function to confirm at least one of if and when a user is speaking; and generating a command to at least one of a speech recognition module and a speech generation module based on the confirmation.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided for securing and authenticating a network of a vehicle. At least one network key is generated by an electronic control module and distributed to at least one remote device over a wired power line. At least one signed transmission having a signature based on the at least one network key is transmitted from the at least one remote device to the electronic control module over a communication channel on the network separate from the wired power line. The electronic control module authenticates and encrypts the at least one signed transmission and receives a data stream from the at least one remote device over the communication channel.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are provided for filtering sound. A position sensor determines positions of a plurality of occupants in a defined space. Multiple microphones receive sound and generate corresponding audio signals. A processor in communication with the microphones and the position sensor receives the positions of the occupants and the audio signals. The processor determines which of the occupants are engaging in speech and applies a temporal-spatial filter to the audio signals to generate a plurality of output signals corresponding respectively to each occupant of the defined space.
Abstract:
A system and method are provided for establishing a multipath connection between two endpoints. The method includes establishing a connection between a first of the two endpoints and one or more consumer devices, creating a virtual network interface in the first of the two endpoints for each of the one or more consumer devices connected to the first of the two endpoints, and transferring packets from the first of the two endpoints through each virtual network interface to a second of the two endpoints.
Abstract:
A system for providing power signals to peripheral devices on a vehicle using magnetic resonance coupling. The system includes a transmitter circuit having a variable current source, a base coil and a variable capacitor, where the current source and the capacitor are tuned to provide a predetermined AC current to the base coil so as to generate an oscillating magnetic field at a predetermined frequency. The system also includes a receiver circuit for each peripheral device, where each receiver circuit includes a receiver coil and a rechargeable power source. When the base coil is tuned to the receiver coil the power source can be recharged through magnetic resonance coupling to power the device. The transmitter circuit can be on the vehicle or can be separate from the vehicle, such as in a charging pad.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are provided for active noise control in a vehicle. The system includes a position sensor for sensing an occupant position. A microphone receives audible noise and generates an error signal corresponding to the audible noise. A first controller is configured to receive the error signal from the microphone and generate a modified error signal by modifying the error signal based on the occupant position with respect to the microphone. A second controller is in communication with the first controller and configured to generate an anti-noise signal based at least in part on the modified error signal. The system also includes a loudspeaker in communication with the second controller for receiving the anti-noise signal from the second controller and producing sound corresponding to the anti-noise signal to negate at least some of the audible noise.
Abstract:
A passive entry-passive start portable device detection system. A portable device includes a transceiver. At least one vehicle-based transceiver broadcasts an interrogation signal. The transceiver of the portable device transmits a response signal in response to the interrogation signal. A controller determining at least a range of the portable device as a function of the time-of-flight of the interrogation and response signals. The controller controls a measurement duty cycle of the interrogation signal as a function of the determined range
Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided for monitoring and detecting intrusions and authenticating messages on a communication network of a vehicle. A plurality of signals transmitted over communications network between an electronic control module and a remote electronic module are monitored. Reflectometry feature sets are extracted from the plurality of signals and compared to a repository of predetermined communication network feature sets to generate a mismatch value. The mismatch value is compared to a predetermined threshold range and an authenticated event occurs when the mismatch value is within the predetermined threshold range. When the mismatch value is outside the predetermined threshold range, a flagged event occurs and is recorded.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are provided for detection and analysis of abnormalities in a power line communication network of a vehicle. The vehicle includes various vehicle modules. The power line communication network includes power lines designed to carry electric power to the vehicle modules. Each vehicle module includes a power line communication module that is communicatively coupled to at least one of the power lines. The power line communication modules enable the power lines to communicate communication information to and from the vehicle modules. The power line communication modules can communicate pilot signals over the power line communication network. One or more of the power line communication modules includes a reflectometer module configured to perform reflectometry processing on the pilot signals to determine properties of the power line communication network.
