Abstract:
A system for tracking a first electronic device, such as a handheld electronic device, in a virtual reality environment generated by a second electronic device, such as a head mounted display may include the fusion of data collected by sensors of the electronic device with data collected by sensors of the head mounted display, together with data collected by a front facing camera of the electronic device related to the front face of the head mounted display.
Abstract:
Aspects of this disclosure relate to generating a composite image (600) of an image (310) and another image (440) that has a wider field of view. After an image is selected, the visual features in the image may be identified (701). Several images (420, 440, 460), such as panoramas, which have wider fields of view than an image (310) captured by a camera, may be selected (704) according to a comparison of the visual features in the image and the visual features of the larger images. The image (310) may be aligned (706) with each of the larger images, and at least one of these smaller-larger image pairs may be generated (708) as a composite image (600).
