Abstract: A color measurement system includes a measurement patch (200) utilizable on a continuous sample of color printed matter. The patch (200) has a first predefined shape with a color reference area (202) centrally located on the patch (200) and a high contrast feature (204) located proximate to an edge of the patch (200). A camera scans the sample and generates a location signal upon detection of the high contrast feature (204) which permits accurate positioning of a measurement sensor.
