Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for dry-cleaning an article by using a siloxane compound. SOLUTION: This system 5 includes a cleaning basket 10 for receiving the article inside and one or more tanks 14 and 16 for storing the siloxane compound. A pump 12 for soaking the article in the cleaning basket by a siloxane solvent, is connected between the tanks and the cleaning basket. A distiller 24 for distilling the dirty siloxane solvent, is included for recovering a pure siloxane solvent. A condenser 26 is connected to the cleaning basket and/or the distiller for recovering condensed steam. A separator 28 is connected to the condenser for transferring the whole moisture in the siloxane solvent received from the condenser. A fan 32 is connected to the cleaning basket for circulating air to the cleaning basket so as to dry and cool the article by the air passing through a heating coil 34. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
Abstract:
Systems and methods for dry cleaning articles using siloxane solvents are provided. In the systems and methods according to the present invention, the siloxane solvent suspends impurities extracted from the articles being cleaned, and the system filters off the impurities, thereby cleaning the articles.
Abstract:
Described herein is a solution for use in cleaning articles comprising, a dry cleaning agent, wherein the dry cleaning agent comprises a siloxane solvent, a hydrocarbon solvent or a combination thereof, and an enhancer, which raises a KBV value of the solution. The enhancer can be soluble in the dry cleaning agent and water. Also described herein is a dry cleaning system that utilizes the solution, as well as a purification system for purifying the solution.
Abstract:
A system and method are provided for separating water from a solvent in a dry cleaning application. According to the invention, an inlet is capable of receiving a mixture of silicone-based dry cleaning fluid and water from a condenser of a dry cleaning apparatus. A chamber is coupled to the inlet for receiving the mixture from the inlet. A porous structure is positioned in the chamber for separating the dry cleaning fluid and the water. The dry cleaning fluid passes through pores in the porous structure. An outlet is coupled to the chamber to remove the dry cleaning fluid from the chamber in the substantial absence of the water. A system for cleaning articles comprised of circulating siloxane solvent through a basket, draining the basket into tanks, centrifuging the articles and then drying the articles and recovering the siloxane solvent, and then cooling the said articles and removing said articles. In addition, the ability to remove articles after centrifuging and transfer the articles to a recovery drier allows for greater efficiency.
Abstract:
A system and method are provided for dry cleaning articles utilizing a siloxane solvent. The system (5) includes a cleaning basket (10) for receiving articles therein and one or more tanks (14, 16) for containing a siloxane solvent. Coupled between the tank and the cleaning basket is a pump (12) for immersing the articles in the cleaning basket with the siloxane solvent. Also included is a still (24) for distilling the dirty siloxane solvent to recover the pure siloxane solvent. A condenser (26) is coupled to the cleaning basket and/or the still for recovering condensed vapors. For decanting any water in the siloxane solvent received from the condenser, a separator (28) is coupled to the condenser. A fan (32) is coupled to the cleaning basket for circulating air past the condenser, then the heater coils (34) and into the cleaning basket for drying and cooling the articles.
Abstract:
A system and method are provided for separating water from solvent during dry cleaning. Included is an inlet (52) capable of receiving a mixture of dry cleaning fluid and water from a basket of a dry cleaning apparatus. The dry cleaning fluid includes a siloxane composition. Also provided is a flow controller (60) for urging flow of the mixture received from the outlet. Coupled to the flow controller (60) is a coalescent media (64) that receives the mixture urged by the flow controller (60). A chamber (68) is coupled to the coalescent media (64) for receiving the mixture from the coalescent media (64) to separate the water and the dry cleaning fluid. Also coupled to the chamber (68) is an outlet (69) to remove the dry cleaning fluid from the chamber (68) in the absence of water.
