    Abstract: An earth embankment (1), with an outer wall (2) of prefabricated panels (5) has layer(s) of low-stretch geotextile material or mesh (3) to reinforce the earth layers. The geotextile layers are longer than the reinforced distance (L) and are folded into two overlapping layers (8, 9). The folds (7) of the overlapping layers have a series of holes for connecting the geotextile layer to the panels (5). A reinforced earth embankment (1), having an outer wall (2) made from prefabricated panels (5), has one or more layers of low-stretch geotextile material or mesh (3) to reinforce the back-filled earth layers behind the wall. The geotextile layers are substantially longer than the reinforced distance (L) and are folded into two overlapping layers (8, 9) of the same or different lengths covering that distance. The fold (7) between the overlapping layers is made with a series of holes for anchoring elements connecting the geotextile layer to the prefabricated panels.
