Abstract: PURPOSE:To make thorough analysis in a sort period so as not to give a large burden to a patient by temporarily taking the blood out of the body for the purpose of inspection and returning the blood into the patient' body upon ending of the inspection. CONSTITUTION:The blood is introduced from the artery into a transparent vessel 3 via a catheter 1 by drawing out a piston of a piston cylinder 4. Light is conducted via an optical fiber 6 for projection from a light source 5 into the vessel 3 and the light transmitted through the blood in the vessel 3 is taken out by an optical fiber 7 for detection. The light is conducted to a spectroscope consisting of a slit 9, a plane mirror 10 and a diffraction grating 11. The spectrally divided light is detected by a photodiode array 12 and the output thereof is processed by a data processor 13. The diagnosis information such as biochemical inspection data is displayed by a display device 14. The blood is returned through the catheter 1 into the body by the piston cylinder 4 after the inspection.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition, capable of being selectively incorporated into tumorous cells and exhibiting cellulicidal effects of a photosensitive substance by subsequent irradiation with light, by blending an oily contrast medium with the photosensitive substance soluble therein. CONSTITUTION:A composition obtained by blending an oily contrast medium, preferably iodinated poppy seed oil fatty acid ester (particularly lipiodol which is ethyl ester) with a photosensive substance soluble therein, preferably a photosensitive substance excited by rays having high tissue penetrability (particularly rays at >=650nm wavelength), e.g. pheophorobide a or phthalocyanine derivative. The above-mentioned composition is administered and rays, preferably laser beams are irradiated after 6-24hr to excite the photosensitive substance and activate oxygen molecules. Thereby active oxygen is induced to exhibit cellulicidal effects on tumorous cells.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To measure the thickness and transmittivity of vital tissue and to diagnose the tissue by providing an adjustable supporting device for supporting device for supporting a projecting part and photodetecting part in such a mannr that the space therebetween can be adjusted in the state of aligning the optical axes thereof and measuring the light transmitted at a specified distance in the vital tissue. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber 1 for projection passes through the inside of a hollow projecting cylinder 4 and light is emitted from the top end thereof and is refleced by a mirror 2 for projection provided in the cylinder 4. The reflected light is rereleased through a projecting window 3 to the outside. The light is transmitted through the vital tissue 100 and is made incident on a photodetecting window 6 provided to a photodetection side cylinder 9. After the light is reflected by a photodetection side mirror 7, the light is made incident on a photodetection side fiber 8 in the cylinder 9. A guide rod 5 is provided to the body part of the cylinder 4 perpendicularly thereto and the cylinder 9 is guided by the rod 5 to move in a vertical direction in parallel with the cylinder 4. A screw 10 is provided to a sliding coupling block 9a provided to the cyliner 9 to maintain the specified thickness of the tissue 100.
