    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an electron tube excellent in the S/N ratio. CONSTITUTION:Black spacers 17 made of ceramics are interposed between supporting electrodes 16 by which a number of dynode 14a are supported individually. The black spacers 17 are formed with the elemental composition of the ceramics such that its MnO content is reduced to 3wt.% or less. Therefore, leakage current that could cause dark current, and abnormal emission during electron multiplication can be reduced, resulting in the enhancement of the S/N ratio of the electron tube.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and sensitive radiation detector. SOLUTION: The radiation detector 10 is provided with a scintillator 12 for emitting light according to the incidence of radiation, and a photomultiplier 14 for detecting light being emitted from the scintillator 12. The photomultiplier 14 is provided with a main photoelectric surface 18, a side photoelectric surface 20, a focusing electrode 22, and an electron multiplication part 24 in a glass tube 16. The main photoelectric surface 18 is formed on the entire surface of the inner wall of a light incidence surface 16a out of two end faces for constituting the glass tube 16. Also, the side photoelectric surface 20 is formed on the inner wall of a part being adjacent to the peripheral part of the light incidence surface 16a out of the side surface 16b of the glass tube 16. Also, a part that is outside the glass tube 16 and corresponds to the main photoelectric surface 18 and the side photoelectric surface 20 is covered with the scintillator 12.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a multi-anode type photomultiplier tube in which crosstalk between dynode lines by leak electrons can be prevented. CONSTITUTION:A photomultiplier comprises a multi-anode type photomultiplier, that is a transparent closed container 1 having plural incidental windows 2 in one end surface, plural photoelectric surfaces 3 formed on the inner side of these incidental windows 2 respectively, and plural lines of dynodes disposed at facing positions to these photoelectric surfaces 3 respectively. A shield means 10 is provided between the adjacent dynode lines 6 to shield leak electrons from the dynodes 7.
