Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suspended air dielectric strip line of a simple structure by providing a spacer layer with a channel formed in it and thus forming upper and lower air chambers on a surface opposite to an intermediate layer. SOLUTION: A ground surface 30 is attached to the lower surface 20 of an upper layer 18 and the ground surface 32 is attached to the upper surface 26 of a bottom layer 16 on the other hand. The ground surface 30 is separated from the upper surface 22 of the layer 14 by a flat dielectric spacer layer 40. Similarly, the ground surface 32 is separated from the lower surface 24 of the layer by the flat dielectric spacer layer 42. The channel 50 is formed inside the spacer layer 40 and is extended in a longitudinal direction. The channel 50 forms the air chamber along with the layers 12 and 14. Similarly, the channel 52 is formed in the spacer layer 42. Then, the voltage gradient of a strip line is present over the air dielectric layer of the channels 50 and 52 for minimizing influence from the layer of a solid. The strip line is cooled by air made to flow through the channels 50 and 52.
Abstract:
A method is for producing hydrocarbon resources in a subterranean formation having therein an injector well and a producer well adjacent the injector well. The method may include conductively heating the subterranean formation by causing a current flow between the injector and producer wells, RF heating the subterranean formation after conductive heating by supplying RF power from at least the injector well, and producing the hydrocarbon resources from the producer well.
Abstract:
An AC power amplifier is disclosed for amplifying an AC input signal while limiting the current drawn by the amplifier. The amplifier includes at least one transistor having an input circuit for receiving an AC input signal as well as a DC bias voltage and an output circuit connected to the DC voltage source for drawing current therefrom during conductive periods of the transistor. The transistor exhibits the characteristic of being non-conductive when the AC input signal together with the DC bias voltage are less positive than a DC threshold voltage level and is conductive when the AC input signal and the DC bias voltage are together more positive than the DC threshold voltage level whereupon DC current is drawn by the output circuit from the DC voltage source. The DC current is sensed and a sense signal is provided having a magnitude in accordance therewith. The sense signal is compared with a reference current level and a control signal is provided having a value which varies as a function of the comparison. The control signal is decreased in magnitude when the sense current exceeds the reference current level . The DC bias voltage is then decreased to thereby decrease the conductivity of the transistor and thereby limit the magnitude of the DC current to that of the reference current level.
Abstract:
A polyphase divider/combiner is provided and which includes a common input/output port and a plurality of N output/input ports, wherein N is an even integer greater than two. N electrical signal transmission paths are provided with each extending from the common input/output port to a respective one of the N output/input ports. The N electrical signal transmission paths are of N different electrical lengths such that the output/input ports are out of phase relative to each other by 180/N degrees.

Abstract:
An RF antenna assembly may be positioned within a wellbore in a subterranean formation for hydrocarbon resource recovery. The RF antenna assembly includes first and second tubular conductors and a feed structure therebetween defining a dipole antenna to be positioned within the wellbore, and an RF transmission line extending within one of the tubular conductors. The feed structure includes a dielectric tube, a first connector coupling the RF transmission line to the first tubular conductor, and a second connector coupling the RF transmission line to the second tubular conductor.
