Abstract: Certain examples relate to a method of a method of method of converting inkvectors to NPac. The method comprises obtaining an ink-vector for an image to be printed and responsive to determining that the ink-vector is convertible to a corresponding Neugebauer Primary area coverage (NPac) using a first set of Neugebauer Primaries (NP), converting the ink-vector to the NPac using the first set of NP. When the ink-vector is not convertible to a corresponding NPac using a first set of NP, the method adds an NP to the first set of NP from a second set of NP in order to generate an enhanced first set of NP and converts the ink-vector to the NPac using the enhanced first set of NP. The method may additionally or alternatively adjust the ink-vector to be within a convex hull of a set of ink-vectors convertible to NPac using the first set of NP and converting the adjusted ink-vector to a corresponding NPac.

In one example the method determines a plurality of color prediction models for respective color rendering contexts, each color prediction model mapping between a device dependent color and a rendered color. Measurement data of the rendered color in one said context obtained and mapped to a corrected device color. The corrected device color may be used to predict rendered corrected color for another said context using respective color prediction models.

Abstract: Disclosed is a non-transitory computer readable storage medium, a computer-implemented method and an imaging color profile of an imaging apparatus. A processor retrieves the color profile of the imaging apparatus from data storage, the color profile comprising a first plurality of associations between a first plurality of color values in a first color space and a second plurality of color values in a second color space. The processor receives input data indicating a determined association, the determined association being an association between a first determined color value in the first color space and a second determined color value in the second color space. The processor performs an update process to update the first plurality of associations, the update process comprising performing an interpolation process using the determined association and an association of the first plurality of associations.

Abstract: A method comprises obtaining at a processor a first color gamut and a second gamut represented in a first color space. The first and second gamuts are represented as first and second objects in a second color space, with each object comprising a plurality of nodes. For each node, an index is provided indicating a position in the first color space to which that node corresponds. A further index is provided indicating a position, in the first color space, of the node relative to at least one other node of the object to which the node belongs. Each node of the first object corresponds with a node of the second object providing a mapping between the objects, using the further index. The index of at least one of the first object nodes is adjusted based on the corresponding node of the second object producing a mapping between the gamuts.

Abstract: Certain examples described herein relate to printer calibration. In some cases, adjustment data is received, indicating an adjustment to be applied to a given colorant. A Neugebauer Primary area coverage (NPac) vector defining an operating set of Neugebauer Primaries (NPs) is obtained. Configuration data is determined, dependent on the operating set of NPs. The configuration data maps colorant adjustments to relationships between NPs in the operating set, for both an increase and a decrease in the given colorant. In some cases, the configuration data and the adjustment parameters are used to identify first and second subsets of the operating set of NPs. The NPac vector is adjusted by decreasing an area coverage of an NP in the first subset and complementarily increasing an area coverage of an NP in the second subset.

Abstract: A method of calibrating a printing system. Data defining a color mapping that maps a first set of n-dimensional color Input points to a corresponding second set of n-dimensional color output points, the color mapping representing a measured behavior of the printing system, is obtained. A smoothed mapping function of color input points that satisfies a predetermined optimization condition based on a mapping error between the smoothed mapping function and the color mapping is determined. The mapping error is a function of individual errors between outputs of the smoothed mapping function as applied to respective color input points in the first set of color input points and corresponding color output points from the second set of color output points as mapped from the respective color input points by the color mapping. The smoothed mapping function is used to calibrate the printing system.
