Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for use in the manufacture of plasma display panels for forming fluorescent layers by applying a fluorescent paste into grooves formed between ribs for partitioning a discharge space disposed on a substrate. The apparatus comprises a platform (51) for mounting the substrate thereon, a dispenser (58) for ejecting the fluorescent paste of a preset viscosity, comprising at least one nozzle, a transporter (52-55) for moving the nozzle relative to the platform, and a controller (80) for controlling the transporter and the dispenser so that the nozzle is moved along the grooves while allowing the nozzle to eject the fluorescent paste such that the fluorescent paste is stringed between the nozzle and each groove.
