    Abstract: An improved elevator control system for maintaining a properly controlled interval between a plurality of elevator cars. The system includes means for detecting the time interval or spatial interval between a preceding elevator car, an intermediate elevator car and a succeeding elevator car. When the interval between the preceding and intermediate elevator cars is more than the interval between the intermediate and succeeding elevator cars, the intermediate elevator car is accelerated, while when the former interval is less than the latter interval, the preseding or succeeding elevator car is accelerated for maintaining a reasonable interval between these elevator cars.

    Abstract: A system for controlling a plurality of elevator cars in which a hall call originating means is disposed at each floor landing so that passengers standing at the floor landing can designate the floors to which they want to be transferred, and a target floor memory is provided for each elevator car to store information as to the floors at which such elevator car has already been instructed to stop. In the system, means are provided to detect the coincidence between the floor numbers designated by a hall call originating from one of the floors and the floor numbers stored already in the target floor memory for each elevator car so that the elevator car for which the coincidence occurs in a greater number can be preferentially selected to be stopped at the specific floor.

    Abstract: A circuit breaker having an actuating system comprising a signal responsive valve member of large diameter and a making force imparting valve member of small diameter connected to each other by an actuating rod so that a first differential force relationship can be established therebetween. A movable valve seat of diameter smaller than that of the making force imparting valve member is movable toward and away from the signal responsive valve member so that a second differential force relationship can be established between the two valve members when the movable valve seat engages the signal responsive valve member to limit the effective area of the latter. The movable valve seat is moved toward and away from the signal responsive valve member and fluid under pressure applied to the signal responsive valve member is suitably controlled so as to selectively bias the actuating rod in one of the making and breaking directions. A control valve member is disposed in proximity to the movable valve seat so that it moves in response to the movement of the actuating rod in the breaking direction for controlling the application of the fluid pressure to the signal responsive valve member. This control valve member acts to reduce the moving distance of the movable valve seat following the movement of the signal responsive valve member so that the movable valve seat can take a floating position ready to move in the making direction.

    Abstract: A puffer type gas-blast circuit breaker includes at least one interrupting unit mounted in a vessel filled with an arc-extinguishing gas of a unitary pressure. The interrupting unit comprises: a fixed contact; a movable contact movable toward and away from the fixed contact to be engaged with and to be disengaged from the fixed contact respectively, the movable contact having an axial hollow portion, wherein an arc is established between the contacts upon disengagement of the movable contact from the fixed contact; an insulating nozzle encompassing a free end portion of the movable contact and having a throat portion therein, which is substantially closed with the fixed contact; a compression chamber filled with an arc extinguishing gas; a suction chamber, wherein an arc extinguishing gas within the compression chamber is compressed and the volume of the suction chamber is enlarged upon movement of the movable contact away from the fixed contact, whereby a pressure difference between the compression chamber and the suction chamber causes the arc extinguishing gas to be directed from the compression chamber through the axial hollow portion into the suction chamber thereby to be blown against an arc produced between the fixed contact and the movable contact; and the suction chamber is brought into an open condition to or communication with a space in the vessel, simultaneously when the fixed contact is drawn out of the throat portion in the insulating nozzle.

Further, the characteristics of the electromagnetic repulsive forces between the electromagnetic coil and the electromagnetic repulsive member are so set that their absolute values become smaller on the closing side than on the breaking side with respect to the point at which the electromagnetic center of the electromagnetic coil and the electromagnetic neutral position of the electromagnetic repulsive member are coincident.

    Abstract: ELEVATOR CONTROL SYSTEM An elevator control system for controlling a plurality of elevator cars arranged for parallel operation for servicing a plurality of floors of a building, in which means are provided so that, in response to origination of a new hall call in addition to hall calls originated and allotted already, a suitable elevator car for servicing this new hall call can be selected and the new hall can be allotted to the selected elevator car to be serviced by this elevator car. In the system, this new hall call is allotted preferentially to one of the elevator cars having an already instructed stopping floor within a predetermined floor range covering a plurality of backward and/or foward floors contiguous to the new hall call originating floor. In this elevator control system, the already instructed stopping floor is evaluated by employing a weight coefficient which is variable depending on the factor such as the position of the already instructed stopping floor either backward or forward relative to the new hall call originating floor, or the relative distance between such floor and the new hall call originating floor, so as to provide improved elevator service.

    Abstract: Two puffer type circuit breaking units are symmetrically disposed with respect to a bracket interposed therebetween. Linking means are mounted in the bracket, and one end of the linking means is connected to movable parts of the puffer type circuit breaking units and the other end is connected to operating means through an electrically insulated operating rod. An electromagnetic coil is disposed in the bracket and an electromagnetic repulsive member is electromagnetically connected to the electromagnetic coil to produce an electromagnetic repulsive force. During the breaking operation, current transferring means mounted in the puffer type breaking units are actuated to apply an electric current to the electromagnetic coil, and an electromagnetic repulsive force is imposed on the electromagnetic repulsive member to actuate the movable parts of the puffer type breaking units together with the operating means, whereby the breaking of a large current is made possible. Since the current transferring means are disposed in the breaking units, the structure of the current transferring means is simplified and construction thereof is facilitated and transfer of an electric current to the electromagnetic coil can be performed assuredly.
