    Abstract: A stretched and delustered film is described which is essentially comprised of vinyl chloride polymers and which has a specific roughness, a specific luster value, a high heat shrinkage in transverse direction and a relatively low heat shrinkage in longitudinal direction and retains the delustered surface texture even on heating up to 140 DEG C. The new film is manufactured by calendering a molding composition essentially comprised of vinyl chloride polymers, and by delustering and transversely stretching the film, the calendering, delustering and transverse stretching being carried out in the order indicated and while maintaining certain process conditions. The new film is particularly suitable for skin packaging purposes.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a process for producing nestable containers which are designed in the form of cans, are open at the top and the case of which consists of thermoplastic sheet, by forming continuously from a web of biaxially stretch-oriented thermoplastic sheet a tube with a longitudinally axial overlapping seam, cutting off pieces from the tube and shrinking in each case one tube piece onto a profiled support element with at least one circumferential edge by thermoforming and thereby transforming it into a profiled hollow body which has at least one circumferential edge and consists of a tubular part, a conical part which is connected thereto and has a tapering end and a surrounding collar which is located at this end and projects inwardly, cooling the hollow body, removing it from the support element and attaching a flat, planar material section to the outside of the hollow-body collar.
