Abstract: 1484918 Detergent compositions HOECHST AG 15 Nov 1974 [16 Nov 1973] 49538/74 Heading C5D [Also in Division C2] Anionio cationic and/or non-ionic detergent compositions contain as an anti-microbial agent a compound of formula in which one or two of the radicals R 1 to R 7 represent a C 8-18 alkyl or alkenyl radical, one or two of the radicals R 2 -R 6 represent a radical of formula wherein Y is a hydrogen or alkali metal atom, each of the remaining radicals R 1 to R 7 represent a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, n is 2 or 3 and o and p are zero or 1. The compositions may also contain optical brightening agents, perborates, enzymes, perfumes, fluorescence agents, foam-producing and foam-depressing agents, and deposit-preventing auxiliaries. Examples disclose compositions containing antimicrobial compounds as above together with (3) the sodium salt of a secondary alkane sulphonic acid (or the sodium salt of dodecylbenzene sulphonic acid or a mixture of the former with the sodium salt of a C 15-18 olefin sulphonate), oxyethylated tallow fatty alcohol, sodium soap, sodium tripolyphosphate, sodium metasilicate, magnesium silicate, carboxymethyl cellulose, optical brightener, perfume oil and sodium perborate, (4) oxyethylated coco fatty acid, oxyethylated isotridecyl alcohol, sodium tripolyphosphate, sodium silicate, calcined sodium carbonate, carboxymethyl cellulose and sodium sulphate, (5) distearyl-dimethylammonium chloride, oxyethylated oleyl alcohol, an optical brightener and perfume oil, (6) oxyethylated coco fatty alcohol, perfume and dyestuffs, (7) oxyethylated coco fatty alcohol, sodium tripolyphosphate, sodium silicate, calcined sodium carbonate, carboxymethyl cellulose and sodium sulphate.

These addition products are used for breaking petroleum emulsions.

Abstract: Polyether polyamines of formula (I) are new: (where R1 and R2 are the same or different, and are C8-C30-alkyl, -2hydroxyalkyl, or-alkenyl, or C8-C24 alkoxypropyl; m and n are 2 or 3; R3 is CH3 or H; and (o+p+q+r) is 4-600). Also claimed are their prepn. by the reaction of R1-NH-(CH2)m-NH-(CH2)2-NH-(CH2)n-R2 (II) with ethylene oxide or propylene oxide, and their uses as dispersing agents and in gas- and oilfield applications.. Where (o+p+q+r) is 60-450, the cpds. are useful in low concns. as dispersing agents for organic and inorganic pigments, dyestuffs, and colour brighteners. The dispersions can be used in dyeing with dispersion colours, pigment printing of textiles, and in flexo- or gravure printing. When (o+p+q+r) is 4-150, the cpds. and their salts are useful in oilfields as corrosion inhibitors, demulsifiers, and acid retarding agents (these moderating the attack of e.g. limestone by pumped-in acids).

Abstract: Oxyalkylated addition products from ethylene oxide-propylene oxide block polymers and bis-glycidyl ethers, obtained by the addition of ethylene oxide-propylene oxide block polymers of the formula wherein R denotes methyl or ethyl, n and m are numbers which are so chosen that the content of polyethylene oxide groups is 5 to 80% of the molecular weight of the block polymer, and p is a number larger than 10, to bis-glycidyl ethers of the formula +TR wherein the R1's can be identical or different and denote hydrogen, C1-C4-alkyl or halogen, in particular chlorine, A denotes a direct bond, a sulfonyl or cyclohexyl group or a group of the formula R2 denotes hydrogen, methyl or phenyl, and a denotes an integer from 0 to 10, and subsequent oxyalkylation with propylene oxide or butylene oxide and, if appropriate, ethylene oxide, the amount of propylene oxide or butylene oxide which is added last being 1 to 90% by weight of the total molecule and the amount of ethylene oxide which, optionally, has also been added, being 50% by weight of the total molecule. These addition compounds are used for breaking crude oil emulsions.
