Abstract: Epoxy resin compositions based on polyglycidyl ethers of polyhydric alcohols or phenols contain as reactive diluent a compound of the formula in which R is H or alkyl. The preferred diluents are trioxan and paraldehyde (trimethyltrioxan). The compositions may contain polyamine hardeners, fillers and fibrous reinforcement. In examples compositions of the invention are compared with similar compositions in which the reactive diluent is replaced by xylene. The compositions are useful in the preparation of foundation material and as coating, casting and impregnating compositions.
