Abstract: A foaming compsn. for prodn. of foam in galleries, to avoid dust formation and fire-damp ignition, contains an anionic synthetic wetting agent, a fatty alcohol, water, a solubilising aid for the alcohol, an an aq. dispersion of a film-forming synthetic material, pref. a copolymer of vinyl acetate or propionate with a dialkyl maleate or ethylene, or a SB copolymer. The compsn. is used in underground operations, esp. coal mining. The compsn. has a steep angle of slope and runs away only slowly. The foam has high rigidity and stability.
