Abstract: Poor wet-fastness properties and unsatisfactory thermofixing fastness in dyeings on carrier-free dyeable polyester fibres using conventional disperse dyes exclude the use of textile goods of this type in the contract sector, such as consumer textile goods, sportswear etc. The decreased boil wash resistance of such disperse dyes on the modified fibres can lead to problems because of the risk of bleeding-out during the wash. By the use of disperse dyes containing reactive groups for the dyeing of carrier-free dyeable polyester fibres by the padding technique, the dyeing results in relation to the fastnesses sought are considerably improved and thus further areas of use for the fibre types mentioned are opened up.
