Abstract: A further development of the process for fine grinding of cellulose or its derivs. with ether gps. such as alkylhydroxyalkylcelluloses in a vibratory mill. A deriv. having up to 3C atoms in the hydroxyalkyl residue is ground in the presence of H2O, which may be in the raw material or added later, and air. the process is continued until the particle size does not exceed 100 mu and the residual moisture content is 2-10 wt. % (as in DT 2458998). The deriv. used is now specifically hydroxyalkylcellulose. Prod. is used as binder in the building industry, e.g. as additives to mortar, cement etc, as filler for plastics, as additives to decorative cork materials etc.
