Abstract: The title derivs. are cpds. of formula: (in which R and R' are H, carboxy or lower carbalkoxy gps) and compounds of formula:- in which R" and R"' are H, halogen, lower alkyl, phenyl, lower alkoxy, carboxy or functionally varied carboxy gps. Pref. conc. of cpd. (II) is 0.1-10, esp. 0.2-2 pbw. per pbw. of (I). Mixtures, pref. as aqueous dispersions, are optical brighteners for synthetic fibres, esp. linear polyesters.
