Abstract: 1275512 Dyeing polyesters FARBWERKE HOECHST AG 5 Feb 1970 [12 Feb 1969] 5529/70 Heading D1B Textile materials containing polyester fibres are dyed by treating at 160-230‹C with a solution and/or dispersion of a disperse dye or an organic pigment dyestuff in an oxalkylation product of an aliphatic, aromatic, alkylated aromatic or cycloaliphatic compound which is liquid at 160‹ to 230‹C or a liquid polyglycol ether which is liquid at 160‹ to 230‹C. Water-insoluble azo, anthraquinone and phthalocyanine dyes are used and the oxalkylation product may be the oxalkylation products of a fatty acid, acid amide, amine alcohol or alkylated phenol, preferably with 2-30 moles of ethylene oxide. The liquid polyglycol ether preferably has a molecular weight of 100- 2000. Impregnation may be continuous, at 160-230‹C or at ambient temperature in which case the material is then heated to 160‹-230‹C and at pH values of below 7. Mixtures of the oxalkylation product and liquid polyglycol ether may be used.
