Abstract: Wax powder with a slope angle tangent below 1.2 is made by directing the particles against contact surfaces with a velocity above 10m per. second with frequent changes of direction. Contact between wax particles and against bearing surfaces may be achieved using rotating brushes, continuous or intermittent mixing or by passing through a cyclone air blast or air jet mill. Polyethylene wax may be used and the process is suitable for improving the free-flowing properties of wax granulate made by spraying molten wax down a tower.
