    Abstract: 1336454 Monoazo dyes FARBWERKE HOECHST AG 19 April 1971 [28 Feb 1970] 22693/71 Heading C4P New water-soluble monoazo dyes of formula wherein nucleus A may be further substituted (e.g. by 2-benzothiazolyl), R is an OH, C 1-4 alkoxy, amino, alkylamino or hydrazine group, nucleus E may be further substituted, m and n are each 0, 1 or 2, the sum of m and n being at least 1 and X is a -CH 2 -CH 2 -Y or group, Y being OH or a radical which can be split off by an alkaline agent, are prepared by azo coupling or by condensation reactions wherein dyes having as values of Y : -O.SO 3 H, -S.SO 3 H, -O.PO 3 H 2 and -N(C 2 H 5 ) 2 are prepared. The dyes are used to colour polyamide, polyurethane, and preferably cellulose fibres by the usual reactive dyeing processes in yellow shades.
