Abstract: A surfactant mixture comprises (i) a carboxyalkyl ether of the formula R-O(CH2CH2O)x(CH2)n-COOM (R=C6-C20-alkyl, C8-C12-alkylphenyl, C4-C18-dialkylphenyl or C2-C8-trialkylphenyl; x=1 to 50 n=1 to 3 m=sodium, potassium, ammonium or mono-, di- or triethanolamine> and (ii) an anionic surfactant selected from the group comprising sulfonates. The mixture may be used in a process for increasing yield in oil recovery.
