    Abstract: Process for the preparation of chlorophenylphosphanes For preparation of chlorophenylphosphanes of the formula (C6H5)n PCl3-n in which n is 1 or 2, triphenylphosphane (C6H5)3P and phosphorus trichloride PCl3 are reacted at temperatures above 300.degree.C, for which liquid triphenylphosphane and gaseous phosphorus trichloride are introduced in the given molar ratio at the top of a vertically arranged, elongated and heated reaction zone. The reaction product discharged at the foot of the reaction zone is transferred to a residence zone charged with phosphorus pentachloride. Finally, the excess phosphorus trichloride is removed from the reaction product, via a subsequent fractionating zone, by heating the residence zone.

    Abstract: The clear, expandable, flame-retardant coating compositions comprise at least from 10 to 70% by weight of a film-forming binder, from 0 to 40% by weight of at least one substance which is carbonized under the effect of heat, from 0 to 40% by weight of an expansion agent, from 0 to 5% by weight of dispersants and from 0 to 25% by weight of fillers. In these compositions, aqueous synthetic-resin dispersions are present as binder and ammonium salts of alkyl phosphates are present as substance which is carbonized under the effect of heat and/or as expansion agent, and as acid donor, in a quantity of from 1 to 50% by weight.

    Abstract: The expandable, flame-retardant coating compositions comprise at least from 4 to 25% by weight of a film-forming binder, from 10 to 40% by weight of an ammonium polyphosphate, from 8 to 40% by weight of at least one substance which is carbonized under the effect of heat, from 6 to 25% by weight of an expansion agent, from 0 to 5% by weight of dispersants and from 0 to 25% by weight of fillers. As substance which is carbonized under the effect of heat and/or as expansion agent, and as additional acid donor, these coating compositions contain ammonium salts of alkyl phosphates.
