Abstract: HOE 91/H 009 Cyclic Acylphosphinic acid derivatives and process for their preparation The invention relates to cyclic acylphosphinic acid derivatives of the formula in which the substituents independently of each other can have the following meaning: R1, R2, R3 = H, halogen, C1- to C10-alkyl or -alkoxy, phenyl, phenoxy, acetyl or NO2, where R1 and R2 together, with incorporation of the associated aromatic 6-ring, can also form an extended, unsubstituted or substituted aromatic ring system; R4 = C1- to C4-alkyl, C5- or C6-cycloalkyl, phenyl or alkylphenyl. The novel cyclic acylphosphinic acid derivatives can be prepared by reacting aromatic o-hydroxycarboxylic acids with organyldichlorophosphines of the formula R4PCl2 in an aprotic solvent or suspension medium at 0 to 200.degree.C with elimination of HCl and separating off, washing and drying the precipitated target product.

Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the preparation of phosphanes of the formulae RnPH3-n (I) or (II) in which R represents a straight-chain or branched alkyl group having 1 to 24 carbon atoms or a cycloalkyl, benzyl or allyl group, n is 1 or 2, m corresponds to 2, 3 or 4 and A and B are identical or different and have either the meaning of R, hydrogen or a phenyl group, by reacting phosphene in the presence of a catalyst with reagents of the formula R-hal or hal(C(A)(B))mhal, in which R, A, B and m have the meanings mentioned and hal stands for chlorine or bromine, by using as a catalyst a tetraalkylammonium or tetraalkylphosphonium salt and carrying out the reaction in the presence of an aqueous alkali metal hydroxide solution at temperatures between -20 and 200 .degree.C and at a positive pressure of 0 to 10 bar, in which process for each mole of hal at least 1 mole of alkali metal hydroxide is used.

Abstract: HOE 91/H 008 Cyclic acylphosphinic acid derivatives and process for their preparation The invention relates to novel cyclic acylphosphinic acid derivatives of the formula in which the substituents independently of each other can have the following meaning: R1, R2, R3, R4 = H, Cl, Br or C1- to C10-alkyl or -alkoxy, but on condition that either Rl and R2 together, or R3 and R4 together, with incorporation of the associated aromatic 6-ring, form a naphthalene structure; R5 = C1- to C4-alkyl, C5- or C6-cycloalkyl, phenyl or alkylphenyl. The novel cyclic acylphosphinic acid derivatives can be HOE 91/H 008 prepared by reacting the corresponding aromatic o-hy-droxycarboxylic acids with organyldichlorophosphines of the formula R5PCl2 in an aprotic solvent or suspension medium at 0 to 200.degree.C with elimination of HCl and by separating off and purifying the precipitated target product.

Abstract: For removing hydrogen phosphide from waste air, the hydrogen phosphide-containing waste air is passed at temperatures from 50 DEG to 350 DEG C. over a catalyst which is composed, at least on its surface, of at least one metal which, in a 1-molar acidic aqueous solution, has a potential which is at least 200 mV more positive than that of the standard hydrogen electrode.
