The skin contact opening has an opening area coinciding with a circle having a diameter at least 3 mm and 8 mm at maximum, and the device includes a pressing force control device 37 for controlling the pressing force between the pressure ring 1 and the skin 3 in inducing puncture operation to at least 3 N and 8 N at maximum.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exactly position a test element, in a system and a method for examining a liquid sample, in particular, for measuring a glucose in blood. SOLUTION: A tape is fed intermittently by a positioning device so as to position accurately a wetting area of the test element attached with the liquid sample, in a measuring portion. A sensor unit for measuring light reflectance is preferably used for positioning the test element. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the tips of the lancets are erected prior to a puncture, for example by swiveling them out of the plane of the wheel, in this context, high precision is required in order for the lancet puncture to be associated with little pain, and moreover, erecting the lancet tips should be feasible with as little effort as possible to allow this to be performed in a compact puncturing device. SOLUTION: In the lancet wheel (1) having a plurality of lancets (2) in a ring-shaped arrangement, the lancets (2) includes a lancet body (4) that ends in a lancet tip (3). The lancet wheel (1) has a carrier (5) that carries the lancets (2), whereby the lancets (2) are connected to the carrier (5) via bars (7, 7a, 7b, 7c) that allow for mobility of the lancets (2) relative to the carrier (5). PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lancing assisting instrument, enabling simple handling, used with little mechanical complicatedness, and stored in a space-saving manner. SOLUTION: A body fluid withdrawing system includes a housing with at least one opening 6 and at least one lancet 1 which is elongate and substantially straight in its original and unused form. The lancet has a distal end with a lancet tip for carrying out a lancing operation. The system also includes a drive unit 4 for driving the lancet in a drive direction and at least one guide element which makes contact with the lancet at least during the lancing operation and guides the lancet movement such that the lancet is bent relative to the drive direction. The lancet can have a high restoring force such that it returns to its original substantially straight shape after contacting the guide element 3. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
The invention relates to a piercing system for producing a puncture wound which enables to pick up a body liquid sample and comprises a pressure part (4) applicable to a body part (32) in which the puncture wound is producible, a triggering element (8) whose operation enables a user to trigger a puncture movement of a puncture element (3) after pressing the pressure part (4) and a checking device (5,15,20) for determining at least one parameter dependent on the sampling probability. According to said invention, a security device (9) is used for locking the triggering element (8) in the locking state in such a way that no puncture movement is triggered and for releasing said triggering element (8) in the triggering state in such a way that the puncture movement is triggered, wherein the security device (9) is transferred from the locking state to the releasing state by the action of the checking device (5,15,20) when the checking parameter determined thereby satisfies the minimum predetermined requirements, the puncture system also comprises a signalling device (12) for signalling the transition of the security device (9) to the triggering state and/or for signalling that said device is in the triggering state. A method for preparing the puncture system for producing a puncture wound is also disclosed.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an analytical cartridge (110) comprising a plurality of auxiliary analytical devices (128) that are accommodated in chambers (126). The analytical cartridge (110) is designed to be accommodated in an analytical system (114) in at least two directions and to supply a plurality of auxiliary analytical devices (128) to the analytical system (114) in each direction. The auxiliary analytical devices (128) allow at least one sample-taking movement to be made. The analytical cartridge (110) is designed so that the auxiliary analytical devices (128) can be stored in the cartridge again.
Abstract:
The invention relates to novel chemical compounds that can be used as tracers in renal diagnosis, to the production and use thereof, and to renal diagnostic reagent containing them.
Abstract:
A lancet-sampler system is configured to automatically remove a protective cover (56) from a lancet (30) and automatically unpack a test pad (64) just prior to use. This minimizes the risk of injury and reduces the chance of cross-contamination between the lancet and the test pad. The lancet defines a capillary groove (36) for drawing body fluid from the incision via capillary action and a sample transfer opening (38) for collecting the fluid from the groove. A carrier tape (62) is coupled to the lancet. The carrier tape includes a test pad for analyzing the fluid. The tape is folded around the test pad to form an airtight package (66). The test pad is located at a position to align with the sample transfer opening when the tape is unfolded. The protective cover covers a portion of the lancet, and when the tape is pulled, the protective cover is automatically pulled from the lancet.
Abstract:
The invention refers to a system comprising disposable medical devices and a packaging strip (1) comprising a plurality of chambers (2) containing the disposable medical devices, the strip being folded along breadthwise running fold lines to form a series of loops, each loop comprising opposing sections (3, 4), the opposing sections of at least some of these loops being sealed to each other thus forming chambers (2) between said sections. The invention also refers to a cartridge (10) containing such a packaging strip.
Abstract:
Body fluid sampling device comprising a skin-piercing element (1) having a collection zone (9) for receiving body fluid, and the device further comprising a fluid receiving means (10) remote spaced apart from said collection zone so that body fluid in said collection zone will not contact the fluid receiving means initially. Said collection zone takes up a very small volume of body fluid of about 10 to 500 nl in a very short time period of less than 0,5 s. Said fluid receiving means may have a test zone for performing an analytical reaction. Fluid sample from said collection zone is automatically or manually transported to said fluid receiving means to contact said fluid with said test zone.
