Further provided are specific variants with specified amino acids in that position, and with further amino acid insertions in other specified positions. Also provided are corresponding polynucleotides, vectors coding for the variant, cells containing the vector, methods of producing the variants. The compositions and methods are useful for determining concentrations of sugars in a sample.
