    Abstract: The present invention pertains to the field of manufacture of diagnostic test elements. Specifically, the present invention relates to the use of a rare metal component, in particular rare alkali metal components,comprised in a coating composition for determining the amount of dried coating composition in a coat. Moreover, the invention encompasses a method for determining the amount of dried coating composition in a coat. Further, the invention pertains to a coating composition comprising a rare metal component, in particular a rare alkali metal component,and the use of said coating composition for the manufacture of a diagnostic test element as well as to the said test element.
