    Abstract: A two-axis gyroscope in which precession may be effected by application of a DC current to the stationary precession windings (16). The rotor assembly (22) has a pair of ring-shaped permanent magnets (18, 20) with their magnetic vectors aligned parallel with the gyro spin axis. This structure presents a magnetic field to the precession windings (16) which does not change as the rotor assembly rotates. Thus the gyroscope may be precessed by application of a DC current to the precession windings. The precession windings are located along two orthogonal axes to allow precession of the gyro in two orthogonal directions.

    Abstract: Gyroscope à deux axes dans lequel la précession peut être effectuée par l'application d'un courant continu aux bobinages stationnaires de précession (16). L'assemblage du rotor (22) possède une paire d'aimants permanents en forme d'anneaux (18, 20) dont les vecteurs magnétiques sont alignés parallèlement à l'axe de spin du gyroscope. Cette structure présente un champ magnétique aux bobinages de précession (16) ne variant pas lors de la rotation de l'assemblage de rotor. Il est ainsi possible de faire effectuer un mouvement de précession au gyroscope par l'application d'un courant continu aux bobinages de précession. Les bobinages de précession sont disposés le long de deux axes orthogonaux pour permettre la précession du gyroscope dans deux directions orthogonales.
