    Abstract: A method of manufacturing a porous cementitious product, which method comprises: forming a cementitious premix; casting the premix in a desired configuration; generating gas bubbles within the premix; and curing the premix, wherein gas bubbles are generated and/or collapsed at specific locations within the premix in order to produce a porosity profile along a cross-section of the product such that the product comprises a relatively low density core region and higher density outer regions and wherein the porosity increases away from an outer surface of the product, peaks at some point within the bulk of the product and decreases towards another outer surface of the product, wherein a formwork is used for shaping the premix in the desired configuration, wherein the premix is confined in the formwork in order to contribute to the desired porosity profile, and wherein gas bubbles at an outer surface of the premix are caused to collapse to produce a relatively dense skin.

    Abstract: Un método para la preparación de un producto cementoso poroso, método que comprende, en el orden siguiente: (a) formar una premezcla cementosa que comprende arena como árido mediante mezclado de los componentes de la premezcla con agua, (b) mezclar la premezcla cementosa formada en (a) con un agente generador de gas termoactivado y vaciar inmediatamente la premezcla en la configuración deseada en un encofrado, en el que la mezcla es suficientemente viscosa para conseguir la retención de burbujas de gas, pero no tan viscosa como para inhibir la formación de burbujas de gas, en el que el encofrado se llena del 30 al 50 % por debajo de su volumen, (c) permitir la generación de burbujas de gas dentro de la premezcla por una reacción en la que interviene el agente generador de gas termoactivado, lo que causa la expansión de la premezcla en el encofrado, (d) causar el colapso de la premezcla en expansión en su superficie superior poniéndola en contacto con una tapa de encofrado o sometiendo la superficie superior a un alisado, enrasado y/o apisonado con rodillo, y (e) curar la premezcla; en el que las burbujas de gas se generan y/o colapsan en lugares específicos dentro de la premezcla, con el fin de producir un perfil de porosidad a lo largo de una sección transversal del producto, de modo que dicho producto comprende una región central de densidad relativamente baja y regiones exteriores de mayor densidad
