The invention has an object to provide an operating device or vacuum switch which permits reduction in the overall height of the operating device and improves installation convenience. In order to solve the above problem, an operating device according to the present invention is characterized by including an electromagnet 14 located in a case 10 and fixed to the case 10 through a fixing part, a capacitor 16 located at an end in the case 10, a control board 18 located opposite to the capacitor 16 across the electromagnet 14, an auxiliary contact 34 located above the capacitor 16, a movable part to move by a magnetic force generated from the electromagnet 14, and a power transmission section to operate in conjunction with movement of the movable part. The capacitor 16 and the auxiliary contact 34 are located at heights not exceeding the height of the fixing part for fixing the electromagnet 14.

Provided is a reliable switch having a contact surface that is prevented from being roughened. To solve the problem, there is provided a switch including a plurality of switching units 2 and 3 each including a fixed electrode and a movable electrode that is disposed to be opposed to the fixed electrode and is closed or opened with respect to the fixed electrode, the switch being characterized in that the switching units 2 and 3 each make or break a current to be applied to the switch, the switching units 2 and 3 are electrically connected in series to each other, and the switching units 2 and 3 are each configured such that a first switching unit 3 is first closed, and then a second switching unit 2 is closed.

The objective of the present invention is to be able to prevent an increase in the number of components and an increase in the size of the device when connecting two circuits to one of the electrical connection parts. In order to solve the above problem, this unit switch is characterized in that a vacuum interrupter, which is provided with at least a movable electrode and a fixed electrode disposed so as to face each other, is molded by a solid insulation material, has two electrical connection parts on the fixed electrode side and one electrical connection part on the movable electrode side, and is provided with a current collecting mechanism and an insulated operating rod which is for driving the movable electrode so as to enable opening and closing, said current collecting mechanism and insulated operating rod being provided on the movable electrode side.

In an electrical contact in which aggregation phases including Cu are dispersed in a matrix phase including Mo, Cr, and Cu, a maximum grain size of the aggregation phases falls in a range of 4 to 20 µm and, when the total Cu content in the electrical contact is denoted by W t , the Cu content in the matrix phase is expressed by C × W t , where C ranges from 0.54 to 0.81. A process for producing an electrical contact including Mo, Cr, and Cu includes a step of compacting mixed Mo and Cr powders, thus forming a powder-compression compact and a step of making the powder-compression compact infiltrated with molten Cu.
