Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high speed picture processing system with a simple user interface, that can automatically decide rectangular object such as character frame. page mark, position correction mark only by the click with a mouse. SOLUTION: The scanned image of document containing a black frame 500 is displayed on a display, the character frame at a left end is clicked by the mouse at every recognition field and a character frame at the right end of the same field is clicked. Thus, the field is automatically designated. At that time, a field position/size decision program scans an image leftward/ rightward/upward/downward from the two clucked points and a walk on the black frame is selected. Furthermore, a rectangle is set between the two character frames and a histogram is taken. The number of character frames and the thickness of a black line between the character frames are automatically detected. In the document with the page mark and the position correction mark, what kind of mark it is, is automatically detected from that the vicinity is black and from the height of the mark only by clicking the inner part of the mark with the mouse.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for verifying a symptom, which eliminates repeated symptom definitions or symptoms having low accuracy. SOLUTION: The computer system for enabling verification of a symptom including a rule for detecting a set of events related to a given problem includes a symptom database which stores the symptom, a specimen database which stores a specimen including a set of events detected according to a rule of a certain symptom, and an analysis unit which analyzes the specimen stored in the specimen database using a new symptom in order to determine whether to add the new symptom to the symptom database. The present disclosure also includes a method and a computer program for enabling verification of a symptom including a rule for detecting a set of events related to a given problem. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient test method to internationalization software that is executed in a plurality of language environments. SOLUTION: Characters in a first language is subjected to one-to-one conversion into characters in a second language on the basis of a conversion table 320, and an external resource file 310 described in the first language of internationalization software is subjected to pseudo-translation. Output information from the internationalization software for performing processing 335 with reference to pseudo-translated resource file 340 for test is displayed 360 by using any of a plurality of fonts 370 to 395 prepared in each test item. Each of the plurality of fonts included in the output information can identify a character code to be a test target and the other character codes in displaying the output information using corresponding font by associating type forms with a group of a plurality of character codes to be a test target and with a group of a plurality of the other character codes by using different association rules. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the burden of an operator by displaying character images similar in letter shape whose typefaces are similar collectively in a confirmation screen where the character images in the same category are arranged, thereby improving the operation efficiency of confirming/correcting recognition results by the operator. SOLUTION: This output mechanism of a character recognition device is provided with: a category classifying part 20 for classifying the image data of characters being the target of the character recognition processing for every character(category) recognized by the character recognition processing; a clustering processing part 30 for calculating featured values related with the shapes of the characters included in the image data in each category classified by the category classifying part 20, and for classifying the image data into one or more clusters based on the featured values; and a picture generating part 50 for generating and displaying the confirmation picture on which the image data are displayed for every cluster classified by the clustering processing part 30. To provide a system for reducing oversight of the result of false recognition and improving working efficiency, while realizing the reduction of load of operators, and to provide a method thereof. The system in the invention contains a display unit and a control unit for controlling the display unit, and may display a plurality of unit images in series on the display unit, wherein the display unit includes a first display area and a second display area controlled by the control unit, and the control unit controls so that the display of the unit image on the first display area may differ from the display of the unit image on the second display area in the format thereof. The control unit may be made so as to include a means for adjusting the transferring distance of a plurality of the unit images per unit time. Furthermore, the control unit may be made so as to display the unit images while keeping the unit images stood still for a given period of time on the first display area, and so as to display the unit images while transferring the unit images in given scrolling direction on the second display area.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screen display control method intuitively and simply determining a difference between a scanned image and a recognition result. SOLUTION: The display in a recognition screen form 300 for allowing a user to recognize the recognition result of the characters is controlled as follows. At first, reference patterns of specified characters stored in a memory and a plurality of character images recognized as the specified characters are read based on the operation by the user. The read reference patterns are displayed on a recognition result character display part 310 in the recognition screen form 300, and the read plurality of character images are displayed on a prescribed positions on a character image display part 320 and a character image list display part 330 adjoining or close to the recognition result character display part 310 in order. The character image list display part 330 enumerates a plurality of character images and displays the already displayed character images in positions deviated from the prescribed positions by one.
