An elastomeric switch, for example as disclosed in Specification 1,134,507, comprising gold contacts, plated respectively on an insulating substrate 10 and an overlying insulating film 18, which are operable by an almost imperceptible movement of a ball 32, is provided with a push-button 36 acting on the ball 32 via a body 34 of resiliently deformable material, for example, half-an-inch thick, such that a more satisfactory " feel " is given to the manual operation of the switch. A metallic disc 40 may be fixed to the underside of the resilient layer 34 to modify the pressure transferred from button 36 to ball 32 in inverse relationship with the diameter of the disc 40.
