    Abstract: Disclosed is a combined antenna and helicopter rotor blade 101. The antenna comprises one or more electrically non-conductive rotor blades 101, each having an electrical conductor 210, 310 positioned parallel to the major axis of a respective rotor blade 101.     Abstract: Disclosed is a combined directional antenna and rotor blade 101 for a helicopter 100. The antenna comprises three or more electrically non-conductive rotor blades 200, each having an electrical conductor 210 positioned parallel to the major axis of a respective rotor blade 200. Two of the electrical conductors 210, having angular positions nearer to a predetermined angular position are connected via a connections means 700 to apparatus for transmission or reception of radio waves. The remaining conductors may either be connected to the body of the helicopter or supplied with a signal out of phase compared to that supplied to the two electrical conductors. Also disclosed is a communications system including apparatus for the transmission or reception of radio waves.
